“Like Delft” proposes a multi-scalar vision for urban development in Delft. On a regional scale, the city is positioned as a new center of attraction, leveraging the existing dynamics of talent and student influx from TU Delft University. The plan proposes the enhancement of public transport connections with Rotterdam and The Hague for daily commuters, complemented by slower routes that link the southern part of the city with the university and the technological hub, promoting the use of public transport and pedestrian pathways, thereby minimizing car and bicycle dependency.
The project integrates environmental considerations with densification at the city and neighborhood levels. The densification strategy is accompanied by a network of public spaces designed to reinforce the existing ecological framework, promoting the establishment of green corridors at the city scale. At the neighborhood scale, this is further supported by public spaces that facilitate active and optimized use of green areas, creating dynamic and attractive pedestrian routes.
